Waterfowl hunting and sport fishing

Alaska Waterfowlers Lodge, located adjacent to the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge at Cold Bay, offers the best waterfowl hunting Alaska has to offer. Six hundred miles southwest of Anchorage lies the largest eel grass bed in North America.  From late August till early November all the worlds population of Pacific Black Brant, huge numbers of Canada Geese, puddle and sea ducks call Izembek Lagoon home. You may also enjoy ptarmigan hunting in the uplands around the Cold Bay area.  Alaska Waterfowlers Lodge offers its clients great wingshooting in this huge expanse of salt water lagoons, tundra, and fresh water lakes.

The Cold Bay area also has some excellent silver salmon fishing a short distance from our lodge.  You may choose to enjoy this great fishing in addition to waterfowl hunting.

Hunting is conducted primarily by specialized boat within the protected waters of Izembek Lagoon.  When adverse conditions prevent boat hunting, there are excellent shooting opportunities a short distance from the road system. Decoy and pass shooting are the methods you will enjoy.

 
Daily limits include: six Canada Geese, two Pacific Black Brant, eight puddle ducks, fifteen sea ducks and twenty ptarmigan.  The silver salmon bag limit is five per day.
